Riaaya Development and Culture is a non-profit organization in Morocco, with a vision to engage and support marginalized children of the Sefrou Medina, to confidently celebrate, explore and be the very best of who they are. Riaaya Development and Culture is completely run by dedicated Moroccan volunteers. In 2016 we established a community center, where children can borrow books from our library; have access to clothing and school materials; and can attend a diverse program of groups and holiday programs.
Our plans are to consolidate and expand the services we provide to meet the needs of the Children of the Sefrou Medina. We have long-term visions that include providing children with a nutritious meal each day; increasing accessibility to health care and education; and expanding our group program. Most importantly, we want to enable children of the Medina to feel increasingly valued, respected, and confident about who they are, both within the culture of the Medina and with their contemporaries beyond.
Currently, we run weekly activities that include: stories reading, art and craft classes, music, cultural exchange sessions and tutoring. To ready more about our activities click HERE.
